Dan Norris, CMCT
Cialdini Method Certified Trainer®
Dan Norris is a lively, energetic, and engaging presenter who specializes in the science of ethical influence, organizational culture, creativity, sales, and leadership. Dan is only one of a handful of people worldwide who carry the CMCT (a specialization in the psychology of persuasion) and the CPT (a specialization in the science of pre-suasion) designations. Both of these certifications were earned directly from Dr. Robert Cialdini – the leading authority on the subject of influence.
His entertaining presentation style weaves humor, real-life application, and science together in a way that involves the audience and leaves them with ideas they can immediately apply. Dan has worked with public, private, and governmental clients for over 25 years, contributing to measurable increases in performance, customer and employee satisfaction, innovative marketing strategies, and millions in additional revenue.
Accomplishments
Dan has a developmental philosophy of focusing on the vital few vs. the trivial many – only investing in tools, training, and coaching that clearly change behavior. This has caused him to be cited in several textbooks, articles, and trade journals. When not speaking, he is responsible for preserving Holt’s highly successful Values Based Leadership™ program, which has been recognized by experts including Dr. Ken Blanchard and Dr. Michael O’Conner.
biggest influences
My Grandfather Don Norris Sr. was my biggest influence. He lost his father during the Spanish Flu pandemic in 1918. While he didn’t get to know his father, he made sure his children would know theirs. My father passed this gift on, as I do now with my children. The kindness, dignity, and respect we give others is like a ripple on the water, eventually splashing upon shores we never imagined we could reach.

What Dr. Cialdini Says About Dan:
“There are a lot of positive things I could say about Dan Norris as a presenter. But, here’s what I think is the most informative: When Dan does a program for us, the satisfaction and received-value ratings are in the stratosphere.”
New York Times Business Best Seller Author, CEO, and President of INFLUENCE AT WORK
What others say about Dan:
“Dan knocked it out of the park! His message was spot on and the preparation in learning about our needs enabled him to provide a wonderful lecture. I have heard nothing but good things about it!”
“Dan did an excellent job, very engaging, funny and clear in his delivery. He was very well received and definitely exceeded my expectations.”
“Dan Norris did an excellent job relaying the skills and tools we can use within Principles of Persuasion. He shared applications for every different kind of employee by using experiences we can all relate to.”
“He totally exceeded my expectations. He’s worth every dollar!”
“The Principles of Persuasion Workshop provided us with the necessary tools for success. Dan was able to customize the training so it truly resonated with our students. We were given valuable information which we put to use right away.”
“Dan Norris did an exceptional job in helping the audience to more fully understand the science of persuasion, and at the same time helped them to fully understand the psychology behind decision making. He is a true professional with excellent presentation skills and has opened the minds of many to put this science to work in their everyday lives. I highly recommend Dan without any reservations for your event.”
The time you took to familiarize yourself with Ariel and personalizing the training really made a difference. You should take great pride in both your expertise on the material and most importantly your presentation skills.”
“A resounding success. It was really terrific.”
“I found the session very beneficial and am already using the principles I learned. It was the best seminar I’ve ever attended.”
“Dan, I came to a stark realization in one of your classes a few weeks ago. I realized that no matter how long we may have been doing the jobs we have and how old or young we may be, we can still learn and refresh our approaches to how we relate to our customers… The thing that struck me the most was the number of opportunities we have to influence others. Without your class, I would have never known that I have personally squandered many chances to influence people to my advantage.”
“Our management team has realized the power of the principles of influence with fans, the media, our staff, and even operations with the players. For example, I personally use reciprocity and consistent commitments by thanking others for work they’ve recently completed and by asking them questions about how they think we should tackle issues. Compared to my prior tendency to “cut to the chase,” I’ve found people are significantly more responsive and agreeable. Small changes do make big differences…and since your work with us, I think through situations to make sure I use this science to set the right tone for agreement.”
“Thanks for the excellent keynote on the Science of Influence at my leadership meeting. You set the tone for the rest of the day!”
“We had high expectations, and Dan exceeded them. The obvious extra work Dan did to ensure his content was relevant to our audience really showed. We have a seasoned staff who can often be jaded yet they found Dan’s material engaging and relevant and his presentation style accessible and effective. Many, many thanks for contributing to the success of our meeting.”
“This workshop has given me a structure and toolset to approach situations differently.”
“The POP gave me a very different way to look at things and allowed me to structure a strategy around specific situations.”
